Southeast Asia Annecy Pitching 2024

‘Southeast Asia Annecy Pitching 2024’, which will be held at Salon Haendel from 3:30 to 4:45 PM, on Thursday June 11th, is part of the ‘Partners Pitches’ at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2024 in France. The initial phase of this pitching program started in the Southeast Asia Annecy Workshop in November 2023 at TK Park in Bangkok, Thailand. This workshop is supported and collaborated with the French Embassy in Bangkok, Sawasdee France, TK Park, and the Creative Economy Agency, in partnership with, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, and VAVA (Vietnam Animation & VFX Association). 

The workshop aims to guide and challenge Southeast Asian animation project holders to find a fresh lens in storytelling with advice from French experts. The workshop selected 5 animation project holders from Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam who were coached by 3 French experts in producing, directing, and distributing: Delphine Nicolini, Fabrice Fouquet, and Nathalie Leung. This workshop is designed to help these 5 teams prepare their pitches to promote their projects to international professional audiences to seek opportunities in the international markets.

‘Anavau and the Legend of Nunuk Ranang’ is a feature-length animated film directed by Jo Luping, a Malaysian New Zealander director and producer from Siung Films based in Sabah, East Malaysia on the island of Berneo. 

Bell and Six 

‘Bell and Six’ is an animation series directed by Nguyen Hoang TO from WOA Network, a leading animation studio known for its strong creativity in Vietnam. 

Death Cop 

‘Death Cop’ is an animation series directed by Athawut Vitheethum, an animation director and the founder of Redmos Animation from Thailand. 

Ewa 

‘Ewa’ is a feature-length animated film directed by Keith Sicat a professor and Vision Creative Unit Creative Director and produced by Sari Dalena an independent filmmaker from KINO ARTS, a film production focusing on producing independent features and documentaries from Philippines.  

What Time Is It Now? 

‘What Time Is It Now?’ Is an animated short film directed by Thanut Rujitanont an animation artist and the founder of Graphy Animation, an independent animation studio which has actively expanded animation culture in Thailand and abroad.
